Christianity is based upon a historical fact: Jesus died and rose from the grave and eyewitness testify to that fact. Since He conquered death, He is who says He is and is able to do what He says He will do, give us eternal life. The reality of the Resurrection gives substance to our faith and gives us the ability to face life's toughest challenges with the assurance that God is with us, for us and will never leave us.

The Corinthian church was having problems in their public gatherings because the use of spiritual gifts was not being exercised properly, as well as other issues arose which brought confusion and chaos. These believers were doing their own thing and pleasing themselves. The Apostle Paul once again gives them practical advice on how to accomplish the necessary order needed to bring edification to the whole church and the surety of Jesus being revealed.

1 Corinthians chapter thirteen is referred to by many as the "Love Chapter" and rightfully so. However, the word for love that Paul speaks of here, has a much deeper meaning than how we typically understand love and use the word love. It's the kind of love that will transform our lives from the inside out and will remain throughout eternity. It's agape love, the love that comes from God Himself, which gives us the ability to love genuinely and selflessly.
