To be a true disciple of Jesus, we must be tough-skinned while at the same time, we are exhorted by Jesus to turn the other cheek when being persecuted. How can we do that?  Only through the power of the Holy Spirit within us.

The Faithful Servant - Isaiah 42:1-9

Isaiah has words of encouragement and hope for us today. We can at times feel weak and unusable to the Lord. However, the Lord through the prophet Isaiah speaks words that when we are feeling weak, and the flame of our faith seems as if it is growing more dim, the Lord will not throw us away or snuff us out. Instead, He will strengthen us and restore our usefulness. He will rekindle the flame so once again we will shine brighter than we ever have.

God Pursues Underserving People

What is Passover about? It's salvation, initiated by God, towards underserving people, out of His love and faithfulness , to make His name known. Sounds an awful lot like the Gospel, right? He has been in the business of rescuing and redeeming underserving people since the beginning. Passover is a major expression of that and one that pointed to a future Passover, in which not just a lamb but the Lamb would suffer and die.
