The question of "Why do bad things Happen to good people", is referred to as the Archilles Heel of Christianity.  James lets us know, that no one is exempt from experiencing trials and hardships. We live in a sinful world where pain and suffering exist. However, as believers we can count them as joy because Jesus will always be with us in them and will turn our "pain into purpose".

We are all fear something. That fear is either motivating or paralyzing. A healthy fear of God motivates us to live a godly life and the desire to avoid corruption. An unhealthy fear of man, loss, discomfort, and the unknown paralyzes us from living.

Paul referred to the church as a mystery. He knew that God had given him the privilege of being a part of this mystery and to pass it on to others. He also knew that he was not deserving or worthy of this privilege, it was only because of God's love and grace. Nothing was more important to Paul than to live and give his life to make Jesus known and see the church triumphant. It should be just as important to us today because of God's love and grace in our lives.

We often identify ourselves with our sinful past rather than our sanctified future. What was true about us before we made Jesus our Savior and Lord is not true about us today. Once we were dead in our trespasses and sins but now we walk in newness of life because of what Jesus has done for us.
