The servant of God never stops serving God until He calls him or her home. Elijah teaches us how we can stay active and useful in serving the Lord all of our days. He believed and embraced the promises of God before he actually saw them fulfilled. As a result of his active faith, the people proclaimed, "The Lord He is God!" May we be like Elijah and live our faith, in a promise keeping God.

Often times God interrupts our lives with amazing opportunities. They sometimes look like inconveniences but if we try to look at them from a heavenly perspective, we may just see something beautiful. Jesus, Himself, lived with constant interruptions. However, He seized those moments and people were left changed because of it. Jesus is calling His followers to do the same.

Scripture tells us that when we know the truth, God's truth, it will set us free. It is His truth that changes our lives and when applied, produces within us courage. Elijah knew the truth, believed the truth and because he did, he lived courageously for God. May we do the same.

The God of Elijah is our God too. Just as Elijah trusted Him to do the impossible, we are to trust Him to the impossible in the worst of our situations. The Lord is able to do exceedingly beyond and above whatever we could think or imagine He could.

When Elijah meets the widow at Zarephath she is down to her last bit of flour and oil. She believes that she and her son are at the end of their lives. But as she gives out of her need to Elijah, she experiences a miracle of unlimited provision of flour and oil. God knows your situation and whatever your need is, He will faithfully provide for you as you share, sacrifice and give to others in their need.

In order to live a joyful, peace filled life, free of anxiety and the fear that comes from the troubles we encounter, we need to put God on the throne of our life. We must believe and trust that He is sovereign and is bigger than any problem we face. He will always keep His promises and will always bring us through whatever difficult circumstances we find ourselves in.
