Wellspring of Life Church

In this chapter God gives Moses the heavenly pattern for the Tabernacle,where His presence will dwell amongst His people.God lays out very specific details as to how His Tabernacle will be built, the materials and what the required furnishings must be.  The design and the furnishings are an amazing and glorious picture that point to Jesus Christ!

Hebrews 9:11-12,23-26
¹¹ But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. ¹² Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.

²³ Therefore it was necessary that the copies of the things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. ²⁴ For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; ²⁵ not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another-- ²⁶ He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.

This message asks the question..."Are you an Idol builder or an Altar builder"?  Whomever reigns in our heart and how we live our lives, tell which one we are building.  Through the example of Moses we are encouraged to be "Altar" builders for God. Romans 12:1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

The Ten Commandments speak to three important areas of our lives. First, God calls us into... Covenant with Him which is seen in the first Four Commandments.This message covers the remaining Six Commandments that speak to the other two important areas of our lives. God call us into...Covenant with each Other.  God call us into...Covenant with Ourselves.

God's first four commandments deal with our relationship and our covenant with Him. He is basically saying to us, "I want you to take Me seriously and I want you to take what you say and what you do seriously."  God is a jealous God!  He said,  "You shall have no other god's before Me". The god's in our lives can be in the form of money, material possessions, other people, ourselves, our time etc. God wants first place in our lives ahead of everything else. Where would you say He is at on your priority list?

"Many hands make light work" as the saying goes. How true, when it comes to being a part of fulfilling the call of God regarding His church. God has called and gifted each one of His kids to use their gifts to edify the church and to glorify God, for the advancement of His kingdom. 

Moses listened to the wise advice of his father-in-law Jethro to enlist more leaders to help meet the mutiple needs of the children of Israel. As a result their needs were taken care of. Being a part of the church is a call for..."All hands on deck".

Exodus 17 gives us a picture of the ongoing battle of our flesh verses the Holy Spirit in us. We can know victory as we choose to obey God's Word and walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. 

We also see the importance and need for one another. Aaron and Hur held up Moses' hands, as he held up the rod of the Lord. With the aide of these three, the power and presence of God, Joshua and his army were able to win the battle and experience victory over their worst enemey...the Amalakites.

Exodus 17:14-15
Then the Lord said to Moses, "Write this for a memorial in the book and recount it in the hearing of Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven."

And Moses built an altar and called its name, Yahweh Nissi -  The-Lord-Is-My-Banner; 

Today we are surrounded by many forms of idolatry, which we can tend to worship. It may be sports, sports figures, material possessions, money, a person and even ourselves. We cannot worship other things and God at the same time. This message encourages us to be like King David and love God with all of our heart...after all, there is no one who will ever love you more than God does.
