The "pursuit of happiness" is found in the Declaration of Independence. However, you don't find happiness by pursuing happiness. You find happiness, you experience joy, (the kind that stays with you all of your life,) when you devote your life to pursing a relationship with Jesus Christ.

There are times in our lives when we encounter hardship, experience abandonment and moments when we feel like know one hears or sees us.  In Genesis 16 we read about a gracious and kind God who sought out a mistreated outcast, saw her affliction, called her by name and brought to her hope, just as He does us for... He is the God who sees us and hears us.

Ruth stepped out in obedience and in turn received the blessing of surrender. What she understood, we must understand. The terms of obedience and surrender are not passive but active. We must put feet to our faith, trust God no matter what happens, step out, follow Him, risk it all to do what is right to do and watch what He will do!
