Living like a kid of the King isn't about living a life of self-indulgence. Quite the opposite, it's about living a life of sacrifice and service. We are to follow the example of Christ...to help the helpless, encourage the discouraged and stay connected to those who need us. In doing so, we will live a life of true divine royalty, the life of a child of the King.

Whether or not we are living in the last generation, we will experience darkness in our lives, persecution and trials. When you go through tough times you need to remember to..."keep your head on straight", know what you believe and don't be duped. "Keep your heart in the right place", don't let anything take you away from loving God and loving others. And "keep your feet on the pavement", don't stop doing what God has called you to. This will get you through your most difficult days. It will help you outlast the darkness.

Throughout history there are hundreds of named and unnamed men and women who sacrifically gave their lives for their faith and died victoriously because "Jesus Was Worth It". Today there are untold numbers of our brothers and sisters who live in persecution and are willing to lose everything, as well as die because "Jesus Is Worth It"? How we live out our faith reveals our answer to this question.

Regardless of how we feel, regardless of what we see, we must believe that God is in control. If we believe that He is in control, than just as we are willing to accept God's power and blessing we must be willing to accept hardship and opposition, knowing that He is sovereign over it all.

In this passage Jesus tells the story of two types of people. The story shows us both the right way and the wrong way to look at ourselves and others. It also shows us the wrong and right way in how to approach our relationship with God.

God loves us, no question. He has shown it, demonstrated it and expressed it beyond doubt. How about our love, our expressions, our display of love for Him and others. We are created for one purpose...to showcase His glory, to express and demonstrate it everyday to everyone we encounter.
