What is the meaning and the message of Christ's birth? It certainly is not what it has become in our day, commercialism, consumerism and self-indulgence. The message is that Christ came to earth, was born in humble surroundings, lived to serve, suffered and died that we would be redeemed. When we let go of ourselves, detach from this world and join ourselves to Him and His cause, the meaning and the message of His birth is lived out in our lives.

The first word of Psalm 1 is "blessed." The last word is "destruction." The contrast is clear-truly the godly person, the one who meditates in the Word is blessed and happy, but the ungodly person will be devastatingly miserable in the end. Therefore, "above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life", be sure to live what you believe!

The Apostle Paul in the remaining verses of Romans chapter fourteen continues to encourage believers to not pass judgment on one another and be a stumbling block. We must not destroy the work of God in the life of a brother or sister. He does however, exhort believers to pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.
