The book of Daniel gives us an accurate picture of history as seen in this chapter.  The kingdom of God will triumph when Jesus returns to establish His kingdom on the earth. All the kingdoms of this world will become the kingdoms of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Chief Cornerstone.

We need to be like Daniel and faithfully seize the God ordained moments, as we find ourselves placed in, the right place at the right time for His glory and honor.

Daniel resolved in his heart to honor Yahweh in everything he did. He did not allow the culture of his day to infect him, instead he impacted it. We need followers of Christ today to purpose in their hearts to honor Him and put Him first in their lives at home and in the public square.

When the circumstances in our lives are difficult and things are not going the way we had hoped or planned, we can tend to think that God is unconcerned and absent.  As we look at the first two verses in Daniel chapter one, we see the opposite is true. God is very much in charge and sovereign over all.  He promises to carry out His plan for your life even when you don't understand His ways or methods.

God wants to bless us and give us good things that will sustain us. Sometimes they come wrapped differently that expected. What we call problems, God calls  opportunities to demonstrate His power.

Paul wraps up this letter to the Thessalonians exhorting them and us to stay with the basics. By doing so, they, we will find the prescription for getting and staying on target and will live in a constant state of readiness for the Lord's return.
