Daniel 12 is a continuation of chapter's 10 and 11 and in this final vision we are given insight into the time of the Great Tribulation and the triumph of the righteous as well as the tragedy of the wicked.  If we, like Daniel, will live faithfully to the end we will receive our eternal inheritance, our "blessed hope"-the glorious appearance of our Savior, Jesus Christ!

In these remaining verses of Daniel 11 we see the rise of the Antichrist and the terror he will bring as well as we see him come to an end. As we are living in the last days may we guard against the temptation to be lax in our faith but rather have and maintain a sense of urgency to be even more committed and devoted to serving and living for Him.

Daniel was a man who prayed, and God is a God who answers. In verses 20-27 of chapter 9, God revealed His six-fold plan to Daniel. Just as He desired Daniel to know and understand, He desires the same for us too.

The prayer of Daniel has been preserved for us by the Holy Spirit to study and be encouraged by. Daniel did the most important thing he could do to help his people and that was to pray. May we follow Daniels example of how to pray.

Daniel has his second vision of a two-horned ram destroyed by a one-horned goat, followed by the history of the "little horn", which is Daniel's code-word for the Grecian General Antiochus Epiphanes, (foreshadow of the coming Antichrist) who invaded the Beautiful Land and defiled the Holy Temple. Even though Daniel was physically affected and deeply troubled by this vision that he could not understand, he still rose up and went about the king's business and we must rise up and be about our King's business.
