As Paul finishes his letter to the Philippians he brings home the dynamics of God's providence and it's connection to him being able to be content. He learned in the midst of his trying circumstances that he was not a victim but a victor over them and we can be too.

As followers of Jesus, "we know that God is in control, we know that He has a plan that we can trust and we know that nothing will happen that He can't handle."  Having and applying that knowledge, we will have less anxiety and more peace, which produces in us contentment and joy.

Throughout Paul's letter to the Philippians, he continually focuses them on the Lord as their source. Paul tells them  that the Lord will give them the ability to stand firm with confidence and that He is the foundation of their strength and joy. This is just as true for us today. 

The apostle Paul gives us some vital principles as well as safeguards, that are essential for us to implement in order for us to..."press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."

As we enter this New Year of 2023, God will help us enjoy our life more than ever before. This can happen if we choose to live in agreement with God. And how that happens is, when we choose to believe what God's Word says, whether we see it, feel it, or if it seems to make any sense to us or not, choose to believe God!
