This passage defines, possibly more than any other in the Sermon on the Mount, what the difference between religion and true spirituality really does mean in our lives. It is possible to be religious and miss out on a relationship with God. Hopefully, your desire is to know God more intimately, living your life for Him and His kingdom.

While we were still enemies of God, He sent Jesus to die for us. We are commanded to imitate God's love by loving our enemies also. This is how we demonstrate maturity and completeness in our relationship with the Father.

Most people know this portion of scripture is about the life of Joseph. Although we can learn much from his life and devotion to God, there is also much we can gain from the story of Judah tucked away in those same scriptures. Judah started out as a man who was lost in worldly desires but eventually had his life turned around into a perfect picture of God's wonderful redemption.

Monday Jun 10, 2024
Monday Jun 10, 2024
Three themes that are weaved together in John's letter are truth, love and obedience. By believing the truth in Christ and in the Word we are saved. The evidence of our salvation is love and the evidence of love is obedience. Love and obedience are strengthened as we grow in our knowledge of truth. The more we love Jesus who is truth, the more we will love others.

Sunday May 19, 2024
Sunday May 19, 2024
This passage reminds us, in our seemingly impossible situations, to not focus on what we lack but to look at Who we have. Jesus is in our midst, just as He was in the midst of His disciples and the five thousand hungry men plus many more. He took the little amount of food they had, blessed and multiplied it, all were fed and satisfied, not to mention there were plenty of leftovers. Little is much with God, believe it!

The Lord committed 100% of His life so that we might be saved and He asks us to be100% committed to Him and His life-saving mission. We will not be able to live that level of commitment if we stay on our "buts" (excuses). Choose to be courageous, have some guts and watch what God will do in and through you.
